Hi, I’m
Alejandro Labra

I’m a driven individual with a deep interest in technology, innovation, and the power of entrepreneurship. My pursuit of a Computer Science Co-op Major at the University of Manitoba has been fueled by a commitment to continuous growth and a keen ability to adapt and thrive within any company culture.

About Me

I’m a Computer Science Co-op student at the University of Manitoba with a minor in Business Management, on track to graduate in April 2025. My academic journey has been complemented by real-world experiences, thanks to the Co-op Program, where I have applied my growing expertise to make significant impacts.

In the realm of app and user experience development, I find joy in architecting solutions that are both elegant and functional, blending creative design with technical precision. This passion for UI/UX design and mobile app development is driven by a deep appreciation for intuitive and user-centric interfaces.

My experience in developing Pseudophone represents a fusion of user-friendly design and powerful functionality, a testament to my belief that the best software not only meets but anticipates user needs.

At Labra Film Services, a venture I’ve co-owned since 2022, I have been instrumental in developing mobile and desktop applications tailored for film professionals. My most recent product is Pseudophone, an innovative mobile app that revolutionizes how interactive graphics are produced in the Manitoba Film Industry, reducing typical solution times by 90%. This pioneering work is the first of its kind in Manitoba.

As the Business Director at LIT ONES since 2023, I’ve been at the forefront of this new start-up, setting up all needed business facets and creating a unique media platform for artists. My role involves orchestrating video production and marketing strategies, for which I recently reduced post-production costs by 20–30% and operational hours by 33%.

My Co-op work terms have allowed my to hone my adaptability and skill in various technical domains.

At Wawanesa, my team developed architectural models with TOGAF and EA principals, and used SparxEA and LeanIX to create the required diagrams and FactSheets. I also developed a custom script to synchronize the data from LeanIX, via APIs, to the SparxEA repository, allowing it to stay constantly up-to-date.

At Lotlinx, I focused on streamlining and innovating our DevOps practices using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. I successfully consolidated our GitLab CI/CD pipelines, significantly reducing complexity and improving deployment efficiency. Additionally, I led efforts to standardize documentation practices across the company, using Jira and Confluence, setting new standards and templates.

When there is challenge, I thrive, and when there is downtime, I optimize.
